Week 9 of SAMA winter competition to be held at Park 19, Glen Osmond Road, Adelaide including the following events:
Runs – SAMA Half-Marathon State Championships at 1.00pm. Other distance on offer – 8km 2.15pm, 4km & 2km 2.30pm.
Walks – 15km SAMA Walk State Championships at 1.15pm. There will be SAMA Championships for both Race Walkers and Club Walkers. Other distance on offer – 8km 2.00pm, 4km & 2km 2.30pm.
Course Information
The course for the 15km Walk and Half Marathon will use the measured 2km loop (see Course Map below). For the Walk this will involve a 1 km loop from the start and then 7 laps and for the Half Marathon a 1.1km loop from the start and then 10 laps.

15km Walk course – 1lap x 1.0km & 7 laps x 2km (Out-and-Back Loops)
2025 AMA Postal Half-Marathon Championships
The SAMA Half-Marathon, together with the Adelaide Half-Marathon on 4 May, the McLaren Vale Half-Marathon on 1 June, the Barossa Half-Marathon on 24 August, and the City Bay Half-Marathon on 21 September, will constitute the South Australian races eligible for the 2025 AMA Postal Half-Marathon Championships.
Athletes will be required to register separately for the National Championships and are responsible for submitting their results to AMA.

Venue and Date of the race(s) with a link to the official results page to allow verification. Masters athletes need only pay the AMA fee* of $10 once but can compete in up to two events, with only their fastest time being counted (see the AMA website for full details).
*SAMA will reimburse the AMA fee paid by financial club members.
State Masters Athletics Championships – General Information
Winter Championship Events are held on every SAMA competition week during the 2026 Winter Season. They are for all SAMA members, and we encourage you to enter. NB. Only financial competing members can enter championship events.
Entries for all Championships can be made on the day – please come at least 20 minutes before your event to register. Results are determined by 5 year age groups and this means you will competing against those in your age group. A Certificate is awarded to all participating entrants, showing placing, performance and age-graded percentage for all their events, which will be presented at the Winter Presentation to he held following Week 5 of winter competition on 9 August 2026.
Refreshments at Winter Competitions
The social aspect of our competitions is important, and although SAMA will not be providing an organised afternoon tea, participants are encouraged to bring their own drinks in a travel mug/thermos. Some shared treats would also be appreciated on specified weeks (to be advised).
