Masters Athletics
SA Masters Athletics (SAMA) caters for men and women athletes aged 30 years and above. The main aim of the Club is to provide an ongoing competition program for mature age athletes in South Australia for people of all athletic abilities.
You will find a varied program of Running, Walking and Field events conducted throughout most of the year. Some events are handicapped which encourages athletes of all abilities. Everyone is welcome to come and try.

Our editor Ann Jefferies has produced another great issue, containing everything you need to know about what’s happening in the Club and in Masters Athletics. Its full of interesting news, articles, results, coming events and other useful information.
This issue includes reports, results and photos from the Australian Masters Athletics Championships recently held in Canberra, what’s to come in the 2026 Winter Season, and a wrap-up of the 2025/26 Summer Season.
Summer Presentation Night
The SAMA 2025/26 T&F season will conclude with the Presentation Night on Wednesday 8 April – Please bring a plate to share – soft drinks will be provided by SAMA.
To be held in the Function Room inside the main building of SA Athletics Stadium following competition.
At the presentation night certificates will be presented to all members who have participated in the SAMA Summer State Championships, and State Record certificates will be available. Also the contribution of our non-competing volunteers will be recognised. See the Event for full details.
The 2025/26 SAMA Athletics Awards will not be presented, since that will be done at the SAMA Awards Dinner to be held on Saturday 20 June at The Kensi, Kensington (see separate notice for details).
The 2026 Winter Season will commence on Sunday 26 April. See the Programs page for details.
Australian / World Masters Athletics News
AMA holds several Championship Events throughout the year. Some are held as a postal event, and some are with other major events.

The 2026 WMA Stadia Championships will be held in Daegu, Republic of Korea from August 22, 2026 to September 3, 2026.
