The 2026 King’s Birthday Turkey Handicap 5km fun run is on Monday June 8, Race start 10am.
This event is Australia’s is possibly longest-held running turkey handicap race.
Get involved, its a great event that anyone can win – its about accurately predicting your finish time not speed.

This is a fun, social, family friendly event open to everyone.
Your strategy and pacing matter much more than raw speed!
Event Details
- Date: Monday, 8 June 2026.
- Time: The main 5km race starts at 10:00 am sharp. Check-in and on-the-day registrations open at 8:30 am and close by 9:45 am.
- Location: Adelaide Harriers Clubrooms, located at Park 20 in the South Parklands (Corner of Peacock Road and South Terrace, Adelaide SA).
- The Course: A flat, family-friendly, 2-lap loop (2.5km per lap) winding along the smooth footpaths of Park 20, and includes a lap or two of the grass track.
- Prizes: Great prizes and plenty of random draw prizes. Awards are presented to the top finishers closest to their predicted times, alongside traditional recognition for the fastest overall male and female runners.
