Week 5 of SAMA winter competition to be held at Adelaide Harriers Clubrooms (Park 20), Peacock Road, Adelaide including the following events:
Walks – SAMA Half-Marathon Walk State Championships at 9.30am (note change of start time*). There will be SAMA Championships for both Race Walkers and Club Walkers.
Other distances on offer – 10km, 8km, 6km, 4km & 2km (all scratch) at 10.00am.
Runs – SAMA Half-Marathon State Championships at 10.00am.

*The earlier start time means the walkers should finish about 12.00 noon which is the time the slower runners should finish.
The SAMA Half-Marathon Race Walk Championships on Sunday 9 August will constitute one South Australian race eligible for the 2026 AMA Postal Half Marathon Racewalking Championships (see below for entry information).
The other SA race eligible for the AMA Championships is the ASA State Road Walk Championships on 4th July 2026.
Note regarding setting Walk Records
At this time both AMA and SAMA have 20km Walk records, so we will time Race Walkers as they cross 20km as well as at the finish.
Entry Information
The SAMA Winter Championships are for all members, and we encourage you to enter. Entries for these Championships can be made on the day – please come at least 20 minutes before your event to register. See panel below for more information.
Entry for the SAMA event is at no charge for members, but if you wish to enter the 2026 AMA Postal Half Marathon Racewalking Championships it is necessary to register beforehand. Go to the AMA website and follow the instructions there.

Post Event Get Together
This will be held inside the Adelaide Harriers Clubrooms (cnr Peacock Rd & Sth Terrace, Adelaide). SAMA will provide tea/coffee/milk and have the urn going for everyone. Please bring your own cups! Those in the Half Marathons, helpers and anyone else staying to see the finish might like to bring their own lunch for a post event get together.
There will NOT be a Winter Presentation this year. Certificates showing placing, performance and age-graded percentage for all their events will be available for all participating entrants in the SAMA Winter Championships at a later time.
NB. These events are being at Park 20 in the Adelaide South Parklands (start near Adelaide Harriers Clubrooms off Peacock Road – see the accompanying venue map)

State Masters Athletics Championships – General Information
Winter Championship Events are held on every SAMA competition week during the 2026 Winter Season. They are for all SAMA members, and we encourage you to enter. NB. Only financial competing members can enter championship events.
Entries for all Championships can be made on the day – please come at least 20 minutes before your event to register. Results are determined by 5 year age groups and this means you will competing against those in your age group. A Certificate showing placing, performance and age-graded percentage for all their events, will be available to all participating entrants following the completion of all Winter Championships.
