Week 3 of SAMA winter competition at East Terrace*, with the following events (scratch):
Walks –
2.00pm 5.08km & 3.24 km
Cross Country Runs –
2.30pm SAMA Cross Country State Championships ( 8km & 6km ).
Also 4km & 2km XC at 2.00pm.
NB. The Championship XC distance is 8km, except for those members aged 70 or above who run 6km.
The Winter Championships are for all SAMA members, and we encourage you to enter.
Entries for all Championships can be made on the day – please come at least 20 minutes before your event to register.

Refreshments at Winter Competitions
The social aspect of our competitions is important, and participants are encouraged to mingle afterwards. Bring your own drinks in a travel mug/thermos. Some shared treats would also be appreciated.
COMPETITORS ARE REMINDED THAT THEY MUST BRING THEIR OWN WATER BOTTLES

| > Records for winter distances will be accepted from any race conducted on an AIMS certified course. (Does not normally include any parkruns). Walk records will only be accepted if the race was judged and with supporting lap score sheet and judge’s summary. |
State Masters Athletics Championships – General Information
Winter Championship Events are held on every SAMA competition week during the 2026 Winter Season. They are for all SAMA members, and we encourage you to enter. NB. Only financial competing members can enter championship events.
Entries for all Championships can be made on the day – please come at least 20 minutes before your event to register. Results are determined by 5 year age groups and this means you will competing against those in your age group. A Certificate is awarded to all participating entrants, showing placing, performance and age-graded percentage for all their events, which will be presented at the Winter Presentation to he held following Week 5 of winter competition on 9 August 2026.
