Exurbia SA Masters 800m Handicap Event

South Australian Masters Athletics had been invited by the South Australian Athletic League to stage a distance handicapped 800m on 27 December 2022  as part of the Bay Sheffield Carnival at Colley Reserve, Glenelg, which runs from 27-28 December 2022. 

However, due to the expected high temperature Day 1 of the carnival has been changed to a twilight meet, and the Exurbia SA Masters 800m race was not included in the revised schedule.

Instead the Exurbia SA Masters 800m race has been re-scheduled to be held on Wednesday 11 January 2023 as part of the SAMA competition at Mile End stadium.  It will follow the 60m sprint that night.

This SAMA event is coordinated and distance-handicapped by Viddy Jermacans and Sarah Chinner.

The SAMA 800m race is sponsored by Exurbia (formerly the Scout Outdoor Centre), which provides Prize vouchers for the first three home:
1st $100, 2nd $60, 3rd $40.
The winner will also receive a Sash provided by SAAL.

The competing athletes will be those financial members of SAMA who had entered for the Exurbia Masters 800m race at the Bay Sheffield carnival. No further entries will be received.
