South Australian Masters Athletics is hosting the Australian Masters Athletics 20km Walk Championships for the three years 2019-2021.

Entry Fee $20. Entries Close Sunday 4th August 2019.

Team Event

To encourage some inter-state rivalry we are again having having a team event. Points will be awarded from 25 for the first finisher down to 1 for the 25th finisher. Highest total for up to 3 people from the same State or Territory will be the winning team.

Pride and bragging rights in being the top state/territory will be the main prize but a bottle of good SA wine will also go to each team member. So anyone considering coming – talk to your fellow walkers to ensure you have a team.

The course is flat and fast and our judges are kind to older walkers who are trying their best to conform to the rules.

Venue

South Parklands, Adelaide Harriers Clubrooms, corner of South Terrace and Peacock Road

10 laps of 2km course. Starts at Adelaide Harriers Clubrooms (see course map below).

Important Information

Eligibility to Compete
To compete in AMA Championships, an athlete must be registered as a member of a State or Territory Club and the Club uniform must be worn during competition. Failure to wear the correct uniform may result in disqualification.

Age Groups
The Championship is conducted in five year age groups starting at 30 years, and medals are awarded in each age group for every event. Your age group is determined by your age on the day of competition (11th August 2019).

Confirmation of entries
Confirmation of accepted entries and the events entered will be provided by email to entrant or the State Secretary if no email address is given .
